Esker Trefoil Torus is a small ocean of undulating surf-- its three waves crest in white Colorado yule statuary around a central whirlpool. As one swell advances, another plunges below it in surging conuterpoint. Textured with polished grooves which flow over the rolling curves reflecting the light in sheaves, the sculpture is a pure structure of great intricacy and sophistication. The moment when the billow peaks, it is fixed in time, its tense energy imprisoned in stone. By contrasting that tension with the sensuous fluid form of curves, Esker Trefoil Torus captures the excitement of dynamic movement.
